MTB Team Takes Part In Runway Run!

A team from MTB successfully completed the third annual Grant Thornton Runway Run at Belfast City Airport on Thursday past. The event is a team 5km run along the runway for teams of four, where the individual times are added together. Wisely, the event took place at 11:00pm after the runway had closed for the day!

Over 600 local businessmen and women took part in the run in aid of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. After warming up in the terminal with some questionable dance moves under the instruction of Fitness Freddy, the team were pleased to make their way quickly through airport security and onto the start line on the main runway.

Harry, Christopher, Hannah & Emma tried their best to take off from the start line and get into the race but unfortunately found that some of the other teams had a little more thrust and were able to runaway!

Team MTB were pleased to finish a respectable 11th out of the 77 mixed teams involved and thoroughly enjoyed the unique experience of running along the runway whilst raising money for a great cause.

MTB are already looking forward to the event again next year – hopefully the time will fly in!
