MTB Staff to take on Slieve Donard Challenge!

Staff of MTB are donning their hiking boots this Saturday as they take on Northern Ireland’s highest mountain, Slieve Donard, as part of Friends of the Cancer Centre’s charity hike.

The challenge will see a group of our staff making their way through the forest, along the Mourne Wall, crossing at the saddle and climbing 850 metres towards the summit of Slieve Donard. We have been keeping our fingers crossed for a bright sunny day to see the beautiful view along the coast from Belfast to Dublin once we reach the top. However, with the unpredictable N.I. summer weather, our bags will be packed with hats and raincoats…as well as plenty of chocolate to keep us going! Hopefully our legs will keep us standing long enough to grab a Brennan’s ice cream on our way home.

MTB are proud sponsors of Friends of the Cancer Centre, who fund  life-changing and life-saving projects for thousands of local people who are affected by cancer. In the last year alone, Friends of the Cancer Centre has put £1.4 million back into local cancer services, with a focus on patient care, patient comfort and research. We are hoping that our efforts up Slieve Donard will raise vital funds to support their amazing work.
