I’M TOO YOUNG TO HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THAT!

Peter pan Neverland

It is never too early to plan for your future. The younger we are, or think we are (!) the less inclined we are to think that we need a will or an Enduring Power of Attorney. The reality is very different. Unfortunately, we do not live in Never Never Land! It is so important to ensure that your loved ones are protected and all of us should have a will and an Enduring Power of Attorney in place.

So, what is an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA)?

We all know what a Will is but do we all know what an EPA is? An EPA is a legal document that appoints someone to deal with your finances should you be unable to do so because of mental or physical illness. You can appoint more than one person to act as your ‘Attorney’ and you have the option of restricting the EPA. Perhaps you only want it to cover one particular bank account, or you might want to limit it so that your Attorney can only act on your behalf if you are no longer mentally capable of making decisions about your finances.

MTB Solicitors offer a wide range of estate planning services, all of which start with putting a will and an Enduring Power of Attorney in place. Both documents can be drawn up very quickly.
