A Celebration of 100 Years of Women in the Law
On Friday 6th March last some of our female solicitors attended the Royal Courts of Justice in Belfast to take part in the #FaceTheFuture photography project which celebrates 100 years of women in the law.
The ‘First 100 Years’ mission statement reads as follows:
“To ensure a strong and equal front for all women in the legal profession by raising awareness about their history and inspiring future generations of female lawyers”
A full history of the female struggle for equality in the law is presented on https://first100years.org.uk/digital-museum/timeline/.
Partner Marie-Anne McVeigh led fellow female solicitors Judy Hamilton, Eva Bashford, Katrina Magee, Katie Campbell, Colleen Lanigan and Amber Newell and our trainee solicitor Sophie Hynds to have their photos taken to showcase the diverse faces of women in the law.
It was a perfect excuse for an early celebration of International Women’s Day (which fell this year on Sunday 8th March).
This photoshoot was held across all major cities including London, Paris, Sydney and Washington D.C., to name but a few!
MTB Solicitors proudly support this important and worth-while project and are very proud of all of our female co-workers. We are looking forward to seeing the photographs of our female lawyers alongside the other female lawyers across the world.
