Big Penalty for Wayne Rooney!

Wayne Rooney has been given a two year driving ban and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to drink-driving. Rooney was almost three times the legal limit when he was arrested at approximately 2:00am on 1st September 2017. The former England captain was ordered to pay £170 Court costs and it is believed that he will also be fined two weeks’ wages by Everton – a whopping £300,000!

Rooney’s legal team had asked for a large fine to be imposed in place of unpaid work, but the Judge stated he was “not convinced” that imposing a large fine “would have the same effect”.
