McCartan Turkington Breen flag raised at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro
McCartan Turkington Breen’s flag was raised at Africa’s highest point this week by Adam Telford, son of our Consultant Ernie Telford.
Adam, an accountant who is based in Dubai, decided to climb the 6,000m Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise monies for the Tessa Jowell Foundation after his mother-in-law, Liz Hill, passed away following a short battle with Stage 4 brain cancer. Liz was the mother of Adam’s wife Rachel, who is a former employee of McCartan Turkington Breen.
The Tessa Jowell Foundation was formed following Tessa’s call for action to improve brain cancer treatment, research and survival during the last year of her life when she was living with a brain tumour. The Foundation consists of leading academics, doctors, cancer charities and patients collaborating to deliver a new national strategy for brain cancer and to make the desperately needed changes in brain cancer treatment and research.
We were only too happy to donate to this great cause and we congratulate Adam for reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Adam said “On behalf of my wife Rachel and the Hill Family, I would like to thank McCartan Turkington Breen for your extremely generous donation in support of the Tessa Jowell Foundation and my challenge in tackling Mount Kilimanjaro”.
Details of the great work carried out by the foundation can be found at https://www.tessajowellfoundation.org.uk.
