MTB and Others Brave the Elements in Aid of Marie Curie
Fifteen members of the MTB team were amongst an intrepid group of almost 200 Northern Ireland’s solicitors, barristers and judiciary who participated in a 5km walk/run around Belfast City Centre last Friday in support of the cancer charity Marie Curie. Each participant had the option to run or walk from Chichester Street to the Titanic building and back and the late surge in the numbers of joggers may have had something to do the winter storm that descended on the journey route just before 4pm! The Law Society organised the event as ably and enthusiastically as ever and MTB were once again glad to provide access to its office carpark as a base for preparations during the day. It is wonderful to note that over £ 5,000 has been raised to date from the event with more firms’ donations expected.
All partakers were warmly invited to a BBQ afterwards in the National Bar/Restaurant for a rewarding burger and refreshment. As the Friday evening weather turned for the better, this was an impossible offer for some of our squad to resist….
