MTB supports Friends of the Cancer Centre this Christmas

Christmas is such a heart-warming and fun-filled time of year. Everyone looks forward to putting the Christmas tree up, not needing an excuse to eat as many chocolates as possible and spending some quality time with family and friends. For many of us though, Christmas can be a very difficult time of year for many reasons. As you may know by now, MTB have been working with Friends of the Cancer Centre since the beginning of 2017 and have held a number of fundraising events throughout the year to help raise vital funds for this fantastic charity.

This Christmas, we have a mini Wish Upon a Star Christmas tree in our reception. It is a smaller version of the tree that is currently sitting outside the cancer centre at the City Hospital and we are encouraging everyone to donate what they can.

So how does it work?

It has become a tradition for staff, patients and families attending the Cancer Centre in Belfast to adorn its Christmas tree with gold and silver stars in celebration of someone special or to say thank you to the team at the Cancer Centre.

To replicate this tradition, MTB have placed their own mini Wish Upon a Star tree in their reception area to help support families across Northern Ireland who are facing Christmas in the midst of on-going cancer treatment. We are encouraging all staff, family, friends, clients, suppliers, the post man (!) and anyone else who might pay us a visit over the coming weeks to write a message of support on a beautiful star, which is then displayed on the tree.  Everyone who makes a wish will also be given a special star in a decorative organza bag to take home to hang on their own tree.

Please pay us a visit and help us raise vital funds for this amazing charity. Please show your support and donate what you can.

Merry Christmas from all of us here at MTB!
