We asked Jonathan Good some questions so that our current and future clients might get to know him better.
Tell us about your career to date.
I qualified in 1996 and worked for ten years in a mixed practice, with an emphasis on litigation and employment law. Since 2007 I have specialised in clinical negligence litigation, and have handled hundreds of complex and high value cases including many birth injury cases and cases involving catastrophic and life-changing injury.
Why did you decide to become a solicitor?
While at school and in university I spent time in a Solicitor’s office and shadowed Solicitors as they went to court and met with clients. I knew I wanted a people-centred job and saw first-hand how Solicitors can help clients deal with what can be very challenging situations.
Why did you decide to specialise in personal injury and clinical negligence litigation?
I enjoy personal injury litigation because of the variety of the work, and the real-life stories behind each case. I particularly enjoy dealing with healthcare cases as the issues are generally interesting and often complex and can involve a range of medical disciplines.
What attracted you to McCartan Turkington Breen Solicitors?
I had dealt with Solicitors from MTB in many cases over the years and always rated them and the firm highly. I was delighted when the opportunity arose to join such a highly-regarded firm.
What do you get up to outside of work?
In my spare time I can often be found walking the North Antrim hills with my Springer Spaniel, I always have a range of unfinished DIY projects on the go, and I love to binge a good box set.
