The McCartan Turkington Breen apprenticeship programme provides the future generation of solicitors an opportunity to take their first steps into legal practice. Apprentices develop their skills over a two-year period, working alongside a partner of the firm.
Senior partner, Colin Mitchell, said: “a unique selling point of our apprenticeship programme is that all trainees will work directly with a partner in the firm, myself included. This gives someone who is at the very beginning of their career an opportunity to learn from someone at their pinnacle.”
The two-year programme concludes with the apprentice completing the Institute of Professional Legal Studies exams and becoming a qualified solicitor. In the majority of cases, we keep apprentices on who will take up a full-time role with us.
Demand is high for a place on the McCartan Turkington Breen apprenticeship programme due to the rich portfolio of legal services we have on offer. We are a full-service law firm and our trainees enjoy the benefit of experience working alongside industry thought leaders across our many departments. This gives our trainees the opportunity to get a feel for the work involved in each department. It will also help them decide which area of law they will go on to specialise in.
